this would be a heckuva race to watch man..
i know that camaro will pull out in the end though..
4.10 gears
cold air
get that shifting down
if you put in a K&N, you gain some BHP, maybe around 5hp

if you have manual get the 4.10's my buddies v6 is nasty fast with them off the line your gonna need a t-lok too because that open dif just sucks... you would win with the 4.10s and a t-lok... then id get a tune with a cai... you would win hands down

What are you guys influencing this young fellow?

Race on the track man, not the streets.

On a second note, let me put my two cents. I've been racing V8 camaro's on my Sxier, and though theypretty damn fast, the lack at the jump off. But as soon as the pick up their speed, they won't stop.

These V8 Camaros out here are surprised that My Sixer can keep up, it's funny when you tell them is a V6 when they ask you if it's an Eight.

HA! HA!

I've heard 3:73s are better off on standard transmission (manual). And the 4:10s are better off on automatics.

Tis what I have heard around here.

Is that stock LT1 equipped camaros? The LS engines are no joke. With your mods listed, i can't see you hanging with a V8 camaro unless maybe it's a LT1, maybe. My friends 04 V6 had the same mods as you but also 3.73 gears n Tlok and my 1997 Saleen non SC with some bolt ons would walk him pretty good. It was maybe pushing around 220rwhp before the 5.4 swap. Not try'n to put anything you have down or say it didn't happen. Just try'n to understand, that's all.

I don't know why alot of you guys are saying that the v6 camaros are so fast they are not. I have a 1999 v6 mustang stock and I know and raced people around my way with v6 camaros and they suck not that quick if you ask me.

I was curious as to what the camaros do on the quarter mile and most sites that had stock times say that the v6 camaros are in the really high 15 s or low 16 s. So yea they are not that quick. So I would race him but please do it on a track not the street it is too dangerous you could lose your car or hurt yourself or others.

from experience the 4.10s are better if you have a short shifter but if you have the stock set up its hard... so if you have the stock thing and dont plan on changing it get 3.73's other wise get 4.10s... and i think we are all guilty of street racing im sure he knows its illegal and i assumed he was going to race on a track... but for safety keep it on the track.

Ok to EVERYONE'S questions:
Yes, mine is a standard all the way, I wouldn't have it any other way.
Yes, we are racing on the track, I wouldn't dare race on the street.
Yes, his engine is stock.
And, no, I don't have a short throw.
Could someone also tell me about headers??
I wanna get some MAC Longtubes so she'll purr a little louder, but will that give me any big HP gains?

No don't get longtubes unless you have some serious mods done they will hurt you if your stock and will sound a little bad.Go stock or short tube they will work best for you.

What kind of mods should I get to get longtubes? I was watching videos on youtubes with the shortys and I didn't like the sound of those, and all the longtube videos I saw sounded good on a v6. And how will it hurt me?

Thanks

Well like heads, cam and better intake manifold would be the best place to start modding. If you go to supersixmotorsports.com you'll see all the good stuff they have for the 3.8. And as for hurting you you will have to get some exhaust work done so more money and the backpressure will drop because not enough air will be flowing through.

Here is a good site to learn about backpressure and why it is a good thing in stock form Flowmaster, Inc.
And disregard what I was saying about not enough air flow I didn't look at what I was writing I meant not enough air flowing through the engine and out the exhaust to build enough back pressure sorry.
