I'd love to get cams and heads but right now it's way outta my price range, so intake, and gears are next. My main priority though right now is mopping the floor with the Camaro, he's a huge talker and I wanna put him in his place. How much would gears run me> Both 3.73's and 4.10's?
When it comes to gears you should get a T-lok and tuner at the same time to do it right and cheap. If you're not planning any huge mods then you can get a cheap ford racing t-lok; but if you want to get into heads and cam down the road you will need a detroit true trac.

For a stick I'd get 3.73's
Ford 7.5" Ring & Pinion Set 3.73 Ratio

Ford Racing T-lok
Ford Racing Differential, 7.5" Traction-Lok - 28 Spline

Detroit Truetrac
eBay Motors: DETROIT TRUETRAC LIMITED SLIP FORD 7.5" MUSTANG 912A316 (item 170219106989 end time Feb-07-09 10:49:33 PST)

Tuner
eBay Motors: SCT X3 SF3 XCALIBRATOR 3 XCAL3 FORD / MUSTANG / DIESEL (item 120357481335 end time Jan-31-09 11:41:13 PST)

That ought to be plenty to take care of the bow tie. Honestly I think you have a chance as is.

gears are the way to go, 4.10s on your auto. alot of people say that gears plus labor are around 500 to 600$ but my gear setup with 3.73's, gear oil, trak-loc rebuild, masterbearing kit, speedo calibrator for my speedometer and labor cost me 1,200$ and if you can find labor cheaper than i did, then parts that i listed alone run 500 to 600$

if you don't have the trak-loc then your parts alone price goes up another hundred. but gears are a necessary mod for any mustang owner

The tuner takes care of this.

When I put my 3.73's in the bill for labor was about $300. I showed him a links for the gears and T-lok that cost $190 and $200. So thats $690 all said and done. I got my gears for $75 but thats a secret

yes but if his car has mileage on it, over 30,000, then he will need new bearings as well. it's always best to do it right and not cut corners on a gear install. here's a link from one of our site sponsors for the gear kits, pm nick at american muscle for a forum discount as well Mustang Gear Kits as far as the speedo goes, forgot the new edge's have a different computer
