Default dual exhaust fuel line problem?

I went to a shop to get duals on my 2000 v6 and they said that they couldn't do it because the pipe would be too close to the fuel line. Does this seem right? The line did look pretty close to where the second pipe would go. Does everyone who has duals put a new fuel line in? The last thing I want is a hole in the line. Will this only be a problem if the pipe touches the line, or is the pipe hot enough to melt a rubber fuel line 2-3 inches away? Thanks for the help

You need a 1/2 inch clearance between the driveshaft, fuel lines, and all other wires. Personally, thats jsut BS.

They must be idiots. Go to another shop.

Get a kit or go to another shop. Most issues that I have personally seen involve the brake line on the passenger side inner box rail. I have seen exhaust pipes vibrate againt that line and wear thru the brake line metal.
