I just finished installing a new clutch in my 01 V6, thought I would share.
My 6 shooter had about 80K when I bought it, now almost 120K. I didn't know if the clutch had been replaced before, but my throw-out beairng was getting noisy, and in traffic it would chatter a bit at stop and go driving.
I have been running Mcleod clutches in my 5.0L, and I love it in that. So I ordered up the Street Pro kit for 3.8L, its rated up to 350 HP, Summit was about $342, but Maximum Motorsports was selling it for $320, so I ordered it from them along with their aluminum quadrant, firewall adjuster, and cable kit.
The difference is amazing. The pedel has less effort then the stock clutch, I almost thought I forgot to hook the cable to the clutch fork when I first pushed on it, lol. But by no means is it lazy or spongy, you know when it grabs. I was also able to adjust it to release closer to the middle of the pedal travel, I always hated that the clutch didn't release until your foot was almost all the way off the pedal.
Anyways, if any of you guys are looking for a performance clutch that still operates like the stock (or better) then check out Mcleod's stuff. Part number 75104.
