Default Which cold air intake?

I'm new here and i am planning on getting a new CAI for my car. I was planning on gettin a MAC Straight Shot but I've been reading around here and saw Demolet. I've never heard of it but people seem to really like it. Which one do you guys suggest? Thanks alot!

I don't think you'll see much of a difference between the 2. I have a MAC.

Well usually cold air intakes are just more looks than performance cuz either way a cold air intake will give you from 2-3hp so if you want the full power get the expensive one if not go to ebay they sell cai for i think $50-60 bucks. blue or red different ones.

It depends on what year he has. If he has a 3.8L he will get maybe 3-4hp. If he has the 4.0L with a tune he will see 15 or so hp from it.

People need to start being more specific with questions and answers. No wonder people are so confused in this section half the time...

good thing you did, you wont see a higher gain from a K&N for that much more of a price.

I've been reading a sticky I think on the 4.6l saying that cai's are really needed that by itself doesn't increase that much but once you put some bolt ons it really helps they have been talking about brands and the ones that most came out were:
bbk
kandN
mac
etc
It also says where the cai gets better gains.(locations)
you should take a look at it its a long thread do..

No bolt-on does much by itself... If you are going the bolt-on route then usually you need all the bolt-ons for them to work together and make some power on an engine.

Think of it like a system. You open up the front of the engine and let it inhale better, CAI, as a result you need to open up the back of the system, the exhaust, to let it exhale better. That is a simplified way an engine works. lmao

on my 2002 v6 i installed the bbk intake and it gave me a decent gain.I also believe that i wont 'whistle as much as the K&N cai. I would recomend the bbk one, it is also in a chrome finish, makes it look a little more classy
