if this site is a waste of time, then by all means spend your precious time elsewhere

i guess if you wanna rip out your internals sure shift at 5700, doesnt matter to me.
My '01 motor is stock, and it pulls to 6k everytime down the track with no problems whatsoever. I have 250+ runs on it with 114k on the odometer with nitrous. I told him to shift at 5.7k because I don't know his motor, and that is a very safe estimate on my part. Especially with a performance tune. He might throw it on a dyno and find his hp/tq curves are higher, which would allow him to pull higher......

The 94-98's were a different story......

I don't know what you're talking about......

You have track times? What are they?

are you sure its a whole car and not just a rolling chassis?

because for what you just said to be true, your car has to weigh less than 1,600lbs. i'm a tad skeptical of that.

yes we are skeptical......

because no full body mustang is going 10's on 275 hp

there are real drag racers here who know it take more than what you claim to run those numbers.....

a lot of us here were born at night but it wasn't last night.....

so to recap:

your mildly modded V6 is walking away from cars that cost 4 times as much $$$ and have 2x the hp/tq as you do?

where did you find this car, that it has immunity to the laws of physics?

Usually if EVERYONE on this site is telling you that what your saying is wack, you ever think it might be you and not them! lol

Maybe high 10's in the 1/8 mile, I would beleive that.

Anyways, my 01 is mostly stock other than the exhaust and cold air, and it feels to me that the car doesn't have anything after 5000-5300 rpm.

When the car was stone stock, I shifted it about 5100 rpm at the track, running out 3rd gear through the traps and went 15.6@88 mph. I can't say what to shift at after a tune.

Tom, do they really pick up that much on the top end from a tune on a stock motor?

Unfortunately, yes. My first dyno a few years ago revealed my curves pretty high up on the scale after the SCT tuner and tweaking. I think my best time out was 15.02 or so with stock gearing, street tires, and cai until I learned how to drive it. I then learned how to make it faster and all the little tricks racers use.
