I have a 2000 V6 Mustang with 97k miles. I just noticed a slight squeaking noise coming from the steering wheel and when I turn the wheel, it feels like it's rubbing on something. None of this is huge, i'm sure if someone else drove it they might not notice, but I'd like to know if this is something I should worry about.

Have you checked your steering fluid? maybe your pump is failing, but this is a common problem with stangs... mine does it too.

it's coming from the steering wheel. I checked the fluid level and it looked ok but'll check it again. How can I tell if it's the pump?
