I went on craigs list and found this F-150 motor from a 2001 for a good price, but the guy told me the engine had rod nock. I'm not too sure on what that is exactly, but I imagine it can't be good. I wanted to know if its a big problem or if it damages things. I wanted the block with heads since its a 4.2, im pretty sure its the exact same block with the same heads except for the intakes and crank, pistons, and computer. But if its going to be a project just to fix the motor I rather not buy it, maybe just the crank, pistons, and heads.... what do you guys think?

i wouldnt...
depending on how long he ran the engine with the rod knock, the engine may have eaten itself by now and need a complete rebuild.
do u think I will be able to use the crank with no problem?
thats hard to say. it depends on where the rod is knocking. if the rod came loose where it connects to the crank it could have scratched the crank up, and the machined surface will get eaten up pretty quickly.
