Cool 1996 V6 Mustang Torque Converter

Hi all! We just replaced the torque converter on our V6 3.8L, and we're trying to finish up tightening all the bolts. The problem is that we can't figure out how to turn the engine without starting it. Do we disconnect the connectors to the coil pack only? Or do we have to do something else? Someone mentioned disconnecting the fuel pump, or the ECM Fuse? If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it.

Use a 21 or 22mm socket on the crank to turn it so you can get to the tc nuts........

Make sure the convertor is seated properly and spins freely on the tranny so it does not lock up on you. I usually spin it about 5 full rotations.

Default Thank you

Thanks for the help. We got it done. A word to the wise.... make sure to fill the torque converter BEFORE installing it. We didn't, and now are doing the job again today. Oy!! Some lessons are hard learned.
