Default 95 and 97 Mustangs blowing air only up to defrost position

Looking for help. My kids just bought a 95 and a 97 Mustang. Both only blow air up to the windshield no mater what position the selector control is set to? Is this a common problem? Where do I start looking?

Thanks

Sean

If it blows out the defrost vents to the windshield only, it usually means that the main control panel lost its vacuum source.

Thanks,
Is this a common problem on the SN95 cars? It just seems strange that both cars are doing the same thing?

Strange that they both do it, but my fox has the same issue, I haven't tried to fix it though.

Usually, it is a small vacume line broken. Most of the time these lines are broken under the hood on the passenger side near the fire wall. Fix it and all will be fine!

I have had this problem and I was able to fix it rather quickly. On the driver side is the main vacum there will be three lines coming out of it. the smallest one that runs along the fire wall over to the passager side is the one you are looking for. There is a conector about mid way over, that is were mine broke, that is were the problem may be or there is a crack some where else in the line. I used electrical tape to fix the problem havent had the time to go and get another line. And everything works fine. Good luck and hope that this helps.
