if your stang is an automatic you can use the same transmission, if its a manual you'll need to swap tranny's, the V6 uses a T5 and the GT uses a T45.
that being said, you'd also need the pcm, wiring harness, motor mounts & k-member, along with whatever i forgot to mention.
if your serious about the swap, my suggestion would be to find a wrecked GT so your not hunting down parts and buying all the parts seperately.
search through the forums, you'll find a lot of info on this swap.
ya i found a wrecked one and there selling the engine for $1000 and im guessing it will include everything i need but i ask to make sure. does $1000 for everything sound like a good price? and the engine has like 65,000 miles

Let us know what they say "everything" is and we can see if it's really "everything" or not.

see if you can get the whole car. thatd be much better.
then you can use the rear end, tranny, accessories, and other odds & ends.
This q should be a sticky one.. I've seen this q like 10 times on my 3 months in here.. You will also need the cluster, computer etc. 1k for everything I don't think so its too cheap. I always wanted to see a v6 with a gt engine but I haven't seen that, not yet.
hmm well i no the trans, exhaust, and rear end arent part of the $1000 deal but i dont think i need those to put in the gt engine
Well if you plan to mod the gt the tranny won't hold that power
2nd: I think if will be cheaper to get a used exhaust just for a while
3rd: the same as teh first one if you want your current rear end you will need to put a tlok also if you plan to go high on hp numbers I suggest getting the 8.8 rear end plus its from a junkyard the price won't be that high..
if your stang is an automatic, you do not need to change transmissions. both the V6 and the GT have a 4r70w. your 7.5" rear will live behind the 4.6L if you dont beat it up. i would at least put a t-lock into it, though.
well insurance is rediculas for the gt for someone my age plus i figured 1000 isnt that bad for an engine. and 1000 is his asking price so i could probably get him down a little more or ill see if he will throw in the rear end plus engine for 1000.
