If you plan to keep the car smog legit, you can't swap to a 5.0L

Most states you have to use a motor that was offered in your year vehicle or newer. Emissions equipment is not supposed to be altered in any way.

So, 02 or newer engines offered in a Mustang. 4.6L 2v, 4.6L 4V supercharged, 4.6L 3v (if you want to), you get the idea.

If you don't have to worry about passing smog, the 5.0L would be cheap and easy to make fast.

well no matter what engine you go with you'll have to do more than just put in a new motor. the tranny might need an upgrade as well as your rear end + other things i'm sure.

I don't know if you haven't notice that cobra engines are really expensive plus you will also need a lot more things but all depends on how much $$$ you have..

yes i am truly looking for a 01 cobra doner car so i have all the equiptment i need to complete the project.

Anyone tried iaai?
dont want to drop the 200 bucks if its still impossiable to get a cobra.

I have a beautiful platform to start from. I dont want a cobra clone just somthing worthey of all the effort put into this mustang and a 2 V just doesnt seem worth it.

I have the time. should i start looking at junck yards for a 32v to do a rebuild?

just throwing stuff out there.

thx
