Default Great results from Royal Purple oil

Great results from changing oil with Royal Purple Synthetic. It cost more but I understand that it should be good for 10k miles. Took it for a trip this past week and posted 27mpg going around 70mph most of the way. I have a 2004 V6 3.9L and usually get around 24 on hwy. Was very pleased. Any others have same experience?

I get great results with WalMart SuperTech synthetic too. Especially when I'm looking for a change in MPG and keeping my foot out of it.

I don't see how using a synthetic prolongs oil change intervals personally. Cars still have the same amount of blow by and other contaminants using synthetics versus conventional and will gunk up at the same rate. Changing your oil per schedule is the cheapest insurance you can get for your motor.

synthetics are better at absorbing metal particles, and sludge and holding it longer than regular oil. thus letting u have a longer millage.

i still use regular oil and change every 2000 miles, but RP makes a good synthetic oil, as well as many others!

Royal Purple did suggest changing filter and topping off at 5k. Yea, I'll admit I was a panzy and let off on the gas.

So, did you read that off the Internet, or are you some sort of chemical engineer? Maybe you slept at a Holiday Inn.

Sprl67, just like you, I also decided to use Royal Purple. This time, I decided to put 5w 20. I admit, it ran way smoother. As for the mileage... I was so pleased that I was flooring it all day and just wasted my fuel. Great stuff!

its a well known fact that synthetic does everything better than conventional. thats why it costs 2-3 times more.

but i agree it needs to be changed every 5K or so just like conventional.

In my cars I've always changed conventional oil after 2500-3000 and synthetic after 5000. Never had any problems.
I was going to run Royal Purple but it was $9 a quart. Autozone had five quarts of Castrol synthetic and a K&N filter for $30. Seems to work just fine.

ill claim that one to smarts! and experiments!

all synthetic is to me is longer oil change intervals.

every 2000 miles my car gets an underbody lube and detailing

in the words of hank hill " i change my oil every 3000 miles, or when i get ored, witch ever comes first lol.

im a fan of regular oil (penzoil) but i change it more often.

1000 is the minum u want to change regular oils, they have to break down in order to absorb.

2000 u can still see gold!

clean oil never hurt anyone.

lately these cruises of 170 ish miles ( 240 friday ) really rack up!( ill chalk that to the holiday inn!

these DD that run RP IMO is a waste. now a weekend store car, or a pleasure car i think RP is good. but ppl who drive as much as i do.... meh...

I use RP and I like it. Due to my right foot I don't usually see the gas mileage improvement
