Default Day time running light overide

I just got new projector headlights and ive installed the sylvania ultra white bulbs.

I love them and they look really good and project fairly good illumination.

But i found that the DRLs and the low beam look pretty much the same. When your in the car at night and turn on the headlights if you look closely you can see it getting a little brighter but not really.

Im wanting to deactivate my DRLs and slave them to some LED bulbs mounted in the bumper.

Im not exactly a wizz with electronics but i am pretty technically competent i just need a little bit of guidance as i dont know where to start.

How do i deactivate my DRLs, then when i wire in the led DRLs do i just slave them to any ignition controlled fuse or do i have to wire them back into the headlights curcuit?

Thanks for the help,
Ian

You can shut off your daytime running lights by removing the fuse under the hood, the only thing is im not sure if you can run the drls to different lights because usually the drls are the highbeam wire with half voltage and it is controlled by the drl module. so I dont think that you could splice in a different lights anywhere......Hope this helps.

Ok so could anyone telly me which fuse it is i need to remove?

Is this going to cause a light to come on in the cluster or cause any damage to the vehicle?

Also, if i wire new DRLs into and ignition controlled fuse (stereo, windshield wipers, signal lights) would they come on when i turn on the ignition or just when i use my wipers or something like that?

Thanks,
Ian

Look in your owners manual for the fuse to pull out, If i remember correctly its a maxi fuse under the hood.... and if you wire other lights on to something that is key on that could work too, but i would use soemthing that is key on and not the wipers or anything and use a relay or you may end up cooking fuses,
