Default Turbo or Supercharger?

I am deploying again, and I am getting an $18,000 bonus. I am looking at buying either a turbo kit, twin turbo kit, or a supercharger kit. What should I get. I want reliability more than horsepower. My car is at about 200hp, and I want 300+. Any advice would be awesome.

For $18K you could easily buy a used 2003-2004 Mustang Cobra that is already supercharged and would be infinitely more reliable and faster than adding one to a V6 Mustang.

I just want to have a "sleeper". I am only 21 so insurance for a cobra is way too high for me. I just want my v6 to beet a gt.

THat would be my choice if I wanted reliable power and I had the kind of money you want to spend.

if our looking for reliability then turbo hands down. Turbo wont eat up so much gas and engine life plus you can take it higher with more mods such as engine mods etc

Sorry for the off topic. i was just reading on opinions. but gdi2290 man thats a funny avatar.

back to topic... um i like the sound of a super charger more than a turbo..... not sure if that helps. if i ever go the power adder route then it s gona be a supercharger.

man dont listen to these supercharger freaks. get a twin turbo my friend. superchargers take 30 to 40 hp off yer belt but restores it in boost. but from what i've read stock v6's can only withstand about 10 psi stock. but with a twin turbo you could have yer left one smaller and yer right one larger. full range boost is an amazing feeling dood and its a lot cheaper than a $4000 dollar supercharger.

look at it this way. here is yer ricer stats for your 200hp car.

supercharger- 10psi=136hp-35hp+stock hp= 301hp

twin turbo- 10psi=136+stock hp= 336hp.

if 0.3 seconds of turbo lag bothers you then go with the supercharger i guess. but thats with stock internals dood. thats amazing numbers.

well the max psi for stock internals was 4.4 or 6 I believe and even then its better with turbo and with the supercharger you have more psi but for less so in retrospect turbo charge gets you more for less plus turbo gets power from waste and super chargers get power from your power much like a parasite b/c it is
