has anyone out there put a 03/04 cobra supercharger on their 3.8 mustang? i would like to know how much it cost total to do everything. i know supersixmotorsports makes an adapter for $900 so the m112 will fit but im not sure how much this is going to cost in additional parts. if anyone has a list of EVERY part i will need that would also really help. thanks

"inlet plenum; throttle body, cable, and bracket; air induction, meter, filter, and #39 injectors. Add a bigger fuel pump and water/meth kit and a few small parts and have it tuned"

Well for $2800 you can go to 3.8mustang.com and talk to Nathan. He is the one who started this with help from some other members.
There are a few custom pieces you will need from nathan to get it to work 100%.
Also you dont NEED water/meth injection, if you run about 7PSI of boost using UDPs and a big eaton pulley it will keep the IATs low enough.

You need a raised hood, or cut your current one. If you decide to cut your hood, be prepared for water to get into your engine compartment on rainy days.......
thanks for the link but im not sure if i like the looks of the cowled hood i think if the hoods off the gt would fit then i would go with that. anyone know if it would fit the supercharger?

I remember a picture that had the supercharger peaking out of the scoop of a GT hood, but that would mean you have to cut the hood. if I get this supercharger I would cut the hood and get a GT scoop, then again that's just me

good idea! but does anyone know if my engine would be able to handle the extra 100 hp without breaking anything?

well I'm sure the blower makes 200hp and sucks up 100 so that means superchargers are basically parasites to the engine. Some people say it doesn't affect your engine life too much other say it does. so its really just a risk your going to have to make Turbo is really the way to go, but if you like the muscle car sound just go with a blower. If your going to stay at 300ish horse power just stay with 7.5tlok but if you want a lot more your going to have to go with turbo

you need a rise of 3-4 inches.
you could fabricate drop-style motormounts but you can only go down about a 1.5" before the oilpan hits the rack&pinion, to go any lower you would need offset bushing to lower the rack, which would alter your alignment.
it's more practical to get a cowl hood. hey, thats what they're for !
the coolest thing you could do imho would be to get a 99-03 V6/GT hood, cut a hole in it, and hide the blower under a hoodscoop. but i've never seen this done, or if its even possible...
if that were possible, maybe you could even take the driptray from a 03-04 mach1 to keep water out of the engine compartment.

What?
The blower at 12 psi probably sucks up 30hp at the most, they effect engine life like anything else but if you have a good tune you will be fine. You can make more than 300hp with an m112 (or any other supercharger) and if you get tired of the m112 then you have whipple/kennebell. Even at 300hp, the torque provided by the m112 would likely brake a stock tlok.

I mostly agree with sss on this. At 12psi it would be 30-50 depending on the setup. However, on high boost apps, it could be as much as 100 being proven by Gary.....
As far as the rear end lifespan, an auto tranny will be less stress on the rear end as opposed to a T5 that you dump the clutch on. For example, my Son still has an 8.8 with a stock t-lock and 28 spline stock axles. He is not risking failure at 448rwhp at this point. I have 31 spline axles with a T5 because of the stress when revving and dumping the clutch at 4k+. This does translate to 7.5 rear ends too. Is it optimal, no, but is it safe, sure. We have had this 7.5 debate for years now, and it seems that some blow them up, and some don't. That's racing.......
