Default New Owner 2001 Pony Manual: Basic Questions

Just bought a manual 01 Pony* coupe, mineral gray metallic, 100k km, lots of options;

it needs: touch-up paint and primer package (vehicle was in accident), owner's manual (take apart is better), replacement covers for head lights, to find source of possible oil leak (as per dealer "yellow point" inspection); some rust visible on exhaust system, inside in the seat mechanism (roller) and other places - sand paper and primer and/or application of rust paint (depending on location)?

Engine makes a throaty sound during acceleration, and shifter seems rough (compared to previous car, a PT Cruiser) - both normal? I'm thinking the exhaust manifold may be damaged, but read on.

'Stang handles well on highway, no vibration or undue noise, tires are Bridgstone but kinda old (originals?). Some black soot(?) in the tailpipe but nothing major. Electronics all good so far.

All advice appreciated. VIN search on Ford site shows no recalls. *(Pony package may not have been available that year?)

idk about all yer other problems but i hope you paid under 3000 for that car. cuz mine is the same year and motor cept i have 94k, its black with full exhaust and cai and i got it for 34.

as for the throaty sound mine did the same. i think its the injectors cuz i added some 104 octane to a tank of premium gas to "clean" the system and now it takes off like a beast and theres no hesitation or "throaty" sound.
