If i get a cam will i need a tune????

hey i was looking at getting a 212/218 cam for my 2001 v6 and was wondering if i will need to tune my car afterwards. i have a diablosport tuner but im not sure if it will work for tuning a cam. if i have to take my car somewhere to get it tuned around how much do you think it would cost? thanks

I believe you will want to go to a dyno and get it tuned. Other than that I have no idea of the cost, but I'm betting it is not cheap.

ya i herd i need a full tune? and suposally its like 400-500 where as the dyno is 250, but im not sure

Ask around before you just pick any dyno, you want a reputable tuner doing your tune, Mike. SCT Tuner.

Ya get a dyno-tune!!!! They use the dyno to tune your car. its the right way to do it

There are a few mail order tuners that can actually write tunes for just a camswap.

What lift did you get? Are you using the stock springs and rockers?

Yes, definitely get a dynotune. I don't trust mail order tunes because every motor is different.......
