Hi Guys,
I'm looking at buying a 2003 Mustang V6 Automatic (136k miles) and was told it had some "problems". I test drove the car and it ran great - never any problems with bogging down or shifting. It does have a pull to the left and the front end starts rattling around 90-100mph. Could this be the rotors or ball joints? Or something else i'm not thinking of? It breaks good.
But, my main issue is.. supposedly there was a new transmission put in not too long ago. After the car warms up and you shut it off, start it back and go to excellerate, it bogs down. The RPMs will increase slightly and it seems to take the gas pedal away from your foot to the floor (like cars seem to do in cruise control). It didn't do this when the car was cold. It doesn't have any problem starting and doesn't want to die. Only when you want to excellerate after putting it in drive. When it bogs down and you pull it into first gear, it will excellerate just fine. Could this be the transmission? Fuel filter/injector?
They are only asking $5,000 for the car. But I don't want to spend $5k and have to spend another $2-3k for repairs. If this is the transmission or fuel filter, what am I looking at for repair costs?
Any comments/feedback greatly appreciated!
