Default Sound system in 2002 mustang

Hey all. I was wondering if anyone had had a similiar issue that I am having. i was putting some Alpine Type R's in the front of my car but i ran into a mounting depth issue. The speaker just barely doesn't fit. So i need to get some custom spacers for it. Does anyone know what kind of clearance i have between the speaker mounting bracket and the door panel? I think i need at most a 1/4 inch spacer.

If you go to Crutchfield.com they will list your car in the car audio section. One of the items they will list is the speaker sizes your car comes with as well as mounting depths. They should have the dimensions you need. I think I did the same thing back when.
