The h-pipe that you get should have the holes to put your o2 sensors back in. My xpipe that i have did. I cant remember if the check engine light will come on in a 5.0 or not. If it does you can get the the mil eliminators to shut it off. Its been a long time since I have had my 5.0 so like I said I dont know if you will have a check engine light or not.

Default O2 Extenders

If you're going with shortie/stock headers O2 sensors should bolt right into replacement H/X pipe. If your going with full/mid length headers O2 extenders (usually purchased seperately) or splicing in wire may be required due to the shorter H/X pipe making the O2 bungs further down the exhaust. Most H/X pipe manufacturers should tell you in their description if O2 bungs are attached and if extenders are needed.

I get the check engine light every once in a while in my 89' 5.0 with an Off-road (no cat) H-pipe.

Your going to continue, to get that check engine light as long as you run an O/R H pipe. Reason why, the car is not emission compliant and MIL eliminators never fix the problem. All the MIL eliminator does, is put a short time band-aid on it. Your better off, with a free flowing catted X pipe for the back pressure you lose by running an O/R pipe. Don't get me wrong, an O/R pipe is alright if you spend most of your time on the track. But for a daily driver, you need back-pressure, and that you don't get with an O/R pipe, Mike. SCT Tuner.
