the 3.9 is basicly the same as the 3.8 , slightly smaller bore , longer stroke. the same heads and cam for the 3.8 will fit the 3.9 from everything i read .

TexStang04, you were correct and I was wrong. I just checked the sticker on my 3.9 and it also said made in Windsor Canada. The engine was produced in the Ford Essex plant in Windsor.
yeah i was reading a wikipedia a little while back on our v6's theyre made in the same place have similar configuration minus 2 cylinders... but arent directly related.. different bore/stroke and all that but thats what wiki says.. i wouldnt know for sure..
I'm trying to look on the web to find learn more about our engine's development , but I haven't had time to find much. (Wife got into not liking the house as it is)
If memory serves me right. Ford developed the 3.8 from researching the GM V-6s. That's why Buick and Ford have the same size V-6.
Yeah I had heard that too... but no-one's really sure if it was a copy or just similar design. Either way, the Ford V6 is built better and stronger - so we can thank Ford for that!!
