Any Suggestions? Problems with 1997 mustang power steering fluid leaks. Do I sell it or keep fixing?

I have a dilema. The power steerig fluid was leaking out of my mustang, so I changed the pump to a new one. However, it still leaks. At first, my mechanic told me it must be the hose, but afterwards without having a second look, he insisted it must be the power steering rack. I am in the process of going to get it checked out by another mechanic to determine what is the actual problem. Now, my question is, in the event the problem is the power steering rack, does it make any sense for me to continue to fix it up (considering I also bought four new shocks)? And what is the average cost of parts to repaire the rack?

btw: my other option is to sell this mustang and buy an up to date model with less problems which may be sometime next year. I am a true mustang lover an this is the first mustang that I own.

Can someone please help? Thanks alot.

Welcome aboard. If it's not the rack, it could be the high pressure p/s hose.

if i were you, i would find another mechanic, have him clean all the residual fluid, and then put some dye in the p/s fluid, run it for a few days, and use a uv light to figure out where exactly the leak(s) is.

i agree with the p/s high pressure line, they tend to leak because they rub against the other p/s line.
