on my 99 vert the top seems to be hammering when i hit bumps in the road, if i hold down on the latches it goes away, i was wondering the hooks that grab on to the windshield seem to be threaded and if i can just turn these in a bit to tighten down the top any suggestions, thanks

I believe they are. It wouldn't hurt to try to tighten them......

well i fixed it, there is a torx set screw on each close down lever i loosened them and turned the hooks in 2 turns now the top is real tight and no banging it sure sounded like a strut glad its fixed and best of all free
