Default **Gears: do i want 4.10 or 3.73 for better top speed?**

ive got a v6 mustang, and i like top speed. im in the process of giving it more hp. i currently have a cai and plan on a new throttle body and a cat back exhaust system. so for highway haulin' top speed, do i want 4.10 or 3.73, or some other ratio gears?

...or are they both going to decrease top speed from stock gears?

They will decrees your top end speed just on what type of gears is the over all factor. Gears help you get into your rpm range faster then hitting a top speed. I got 4.10s in mine and have a great off the line feel. On the highway doing about 70 I am running about 2400-2500 rpms and I get about 25mpg as well.

They will both drop your top speed.

Edit: Also, unless you plan on running forced induction (Turbo, or supercharger), skip the throttle body. They do very little for a normally aspirated car. I suggest you put some of that towards the gear change and a tuner. Those will give the best "bang" for your buck.

the top speed of 4.10s is about 160mph... that should be enough

Just got 4.10s in my GT and I LOVE THEM!!!! There a lot of fun!
