Default knocking under 1k rpm's

my cars tends to knock or sputer a few times when i get under 1,000 RPM's i think it has something to do with the tuner i just got a few days ago, it has only been doing it since then. could it be my air/fuel ratio? or is there something really wrong with the engine?

Correct, either you are not running premium gas in it, or the tune is off. You should be running at least 93 octane on a performance tune......

i feel like im killing my stangyes it was the defualt tune of 93 preformance but it only had 87 in it, which explains the sputtering in low rpm's-not a high enough octane level in the gas. i retuned today it to 87 preformance untill i use it all up, then im going with 93 octane and a 93 tune and i'm going to see if i can feel a difference...
