I know this is a mustang site but hopefully theres a few good gear heads that can help me out!

I have an old 89 ford truck with a shot transmission that has a 351 windsor in perfect running condition with less miles than my 05 v6 mustang. i want to put the 351 in my mustang. Is it even possible? will it fit right? any adjustments needs to be made as far as transmission or anything goes?

Anything CAN be done. I have seen guys drop a big block ford in the s197. The cologne trans won't bolt up to the windsor block. You would have to custom install a trans that works with the windor, like a c-4 or c-6 auto, or a manual like a t-5, t-56 or even a toploader if you wanted to go retro. It is gonna take alot of fabrication though. Custom engine mounts, custom trans cross member, custom linkages ect.ect.ect. Not a cheap proposition. I for one would sure like to see it though. That would be cool.

Not smog legit in anyway. But I've seen SBF's in a few S197's.
