Ok so I have straight duals from the motor back, although recently I have been noticing a ticking sound coming from the muffler/s. It's really a lot more noticeable at idle but can also be heard while driving as well.

Is this bad? What causes it? (leak in the pipes maybe?) And how easy/expensive is it to fix?

sounds like an exhaust leak to me. cost can vary depending on where the leak is in the system and the condition of the rest of the system. for example, if the muffler is the only thing leaking but the tailpipes are going to rust off in the near future you need to replace them too.

Thanks, I guess I'll just take it by a muffler shop when I get the funds and get an estimate, I've been wanting to get some chrome tips to go with my rims and to replace the old metal ones anyways.

could possibly be rubbing the car somewhere as well and maybe het shield
