1997 to 2000 V6 Mustang engine swap. Need help

Hi, i have bought a 2000 3.8 engine to replace a1997 3.8. what all do i need to complete the transformation..? i know there is a different fuel setup...do i need to use the newer fuel pump and tank?

You need to get a 99+ fuel pump. Get a focus pump, they are cheaper and flow more. Did you get the harnesses too? If not, you need to re-pin the harnesses. Taylor did a great writeup on V6power.net on the swap.

You can modify the fuel rail that is already on the 97 to make it fit onto the 2000 engine. Then you will need to use the 2000 wiring harness if the tranny's are different. Their are a few other things but I cannot remember them right now. Their are a couple of guys who have done the swap here who you will have to talk to. It is not a complicated swap but their are a few things that need changed around to make the engine work.
