Any Suggestions? 98 V6 Mustang Exhaust Tips Size

Hey guys,

Im about half way done saving what I need to have saved to get duals done on my car. Ive been looking around online at mufflers and tips because I think Im going to bring my own to the shop. I think I know what Im doing for mufflers but I dont know what to do for tips. Please tell me what you think about angle cut tips. Thats what i think I want but Im not sure. Also the big thing is deciding on what size. The most common size Ive been hearing about is 3".

Thanks for your help!

the bigger the tip the deeper it will sound ...but then it starts to sound like a eclipse if you go to big. i personally like the Gt styled tips there angled and then the pointy part is cut off.

I would pick 3" regular tube or 4" rolled edge with resonators. (I personally have the 4" rolled edge, resonator, circular end - check out the pic). They should give nice volume without ricing it out.

Personally, I think a circular looks better with our body style. Since the back is more rounded, it just goes better. But I can see where kawik is coming from: angled tips look great on a New Edge!

Mufflers will give you the greatest change in volume - so what'd ya pick? And realistically, tips are a dime-a-dozen in the auto stores, so you could always add later...

I didn't get tips when I got my duals put on. I figured I could always get them later as nice tips aren't cheap. Honestly, it's been over a year and I haven't bothered to put any on. Sounds good the way it is.

But, I see that 3 1/2" tips seem pretty popular, and that's what I was looking at before deciding not to get them.
