Default 2000 V6, humming back right when over 45ish

hey, im new here and have my first problem. i just bought a 2000 3.8 as my second car (first being a 1966 pony).
anytime i drive over 45ish i get a humming somewher around the back right tire. idk what its is. could use some help. thanks

Does the humming get faster and louder as you go faster? Axle Bearing would be my first guess.

it only happens when im coasting. once i step on the gas it goes away.

Have you checked the fluid in the rear end? Have you tried to rotate your tires to see if the noise moves?

check the treadwear on the tires.

if the shoulders are all chopped up (aka scallopped) then its going to make that sound.

brand new tires. 720 tread wear. (goodyear assurances) and i did rotate them. the sound stayed in the same spot

Hopefully you can squeeze under the rear of the car because it is best to keep it level. On the pumpkin there is a what looks like an oil drain plug bolt... unscrew that and stick the ol finger in there. The fluid should be level with the hole. Done.

i had that same problem. just tighten down the lug nuts
