Default Windstar intake question

I was wondering if buying the Windstar intake kit off of vapauto.com is really worth it. Will I see significant gains? Is it a complicated installation process? Also, will my CAI be compatible? Thanks

theres a nice write up of the installation on here somewhere. your cai will need to be modified, as will your hood

The stock hood needs no modification at all if you buy the Vapoli kit. Also, the Vapoli kit comes with its own CAI so your current CAI could be sold to recoup some of hte costs of the switch.

yeah i just checked out the kit, i didnt realize it came with everything it does. it seems like a pretty sweet setup. but are you sure you want to spend that kind of money for maybe 10HP? if you think youre capable of it, i would check out the do it yourself write up on here and even if you bought all the spacers and brackets and what-not from that kit and get your own intake you will probably save $100

It is worth the swap. It would be at least 10hp and probably closer to 15-20hp if you have a CAI and exhaust in addition to the gains already seen by the exhaust/cai combo.

Ask Shiner if you do not think they are worth it. I believe he did a cai/windstar/exhaust and a few other thing and was running in the high to mid 14's and then he added Nitrous and in the low 13's with that car.
