Default 1998 Mustang V6: Noise coming from rear end, wheel bearing maybe??

I just acquired a 98 mustang and the only problem I have found with it is a noise coming from the rear. It sounds almost like someone rubbing sandpaper across metal. Its not a grinding noise. It does it while I am moving and gets louder with more speed. I am wondering if maybe its the wheel bearing or maybe it needs oil in the diff?

If it is the wheel bearing, could someone point me to a right-up and also does it require to be pressed on or off? I am wanting to do it tomorrow but if I need to have anything pressed I better go ahead and do it today while the machine shop is open.

I would check the fluid in the rear end first. Make sure your driveshaft isn't rubbing anything as well. Hanging brakes could make that sound too.

It is either from a bad caliper or frozen pin. Take off your caliper and see if the pins are moving freely.......

Actually, that is not it. The breaks to sort of rub in the rear... I spun the rear tires really fast and got it to make a different sound which was a lower pitched grind. I am guessing it must be the wheel bearing. I am going to buy one of those laser temp gun things and test the temp on each side at different points to see whats up.
