yea but i'm not talking about switching out the parts i was just saying take out the whole differential with the housing and put the 8.8 in. people talk about it all the time on here so i thought it was possible.
i guess i dont understand how the bolt pattern is different. how do people do transmission swaps on v6's then?
you can swap the 7.5" rear end for the 8.8" rear end. the differentials are not interchangeable. not sure about the axles, but i doubt it.
the bolt pattern on the V6 eninge is different from the bolt pattern on the T45 bellhousing, and therefore will not bolt up.
it's like trying to take the wheels off a civic and putting them on a Hummer. they just wont go.
Wow! I never meant to start anything but i think this is the longest thread I've seen......
eh its not your fault.. just some people like to argue and it just drags on and on... its getting annoying really... but i hope you got your question answered anyway...
Yes I did....Thanks! I really like this website. I have learned alot just by reading the forums. As a matter of fact I've seen those "pypes" on the internet and I was going to buy them, but from what I am reading they sound like a$$. haha. Do you like the sound of your car? I am thinkin' I might go with the flowmasters now.

what you have to remember is pypes makes more than one kind of muffler i have the street-pro mufflers.. many of the other people are referring to the violator mufflers the difference is street-pro's are chambered and violators are straight through.. meaning street-pro's have little walls inside to do the fancy stuff with sound that a muffler does while the violators are just an empty chamber for the most part.. its the violators that have the bad reputation on sixers while noone really mentions the street pro's its pretty quiet at idle but u can definitely hear it when ur driving around i tend to drive around with my windows open and no radio on just to hear it lol.. but one suggestion is if you get the pypes streetpro catback dont just attach it to the stock y pipe like ur supposed to... have a midpipe made up of some sort i think it sounds great already i jus tthink itll sound much better with a midpipe or divorced duals but anyway heres a video of my exhaust i took a few months ago i didnt have the intake on it yet so thats what itll do to a stock sixer
p.s. make sure u have a good set of speakers ur listening to it from like headphones or if u have some fancy computer speakers otherwise u wont be able to hear the lower sounds too well sounds best at around 35 seconds i think
i actually bought this kit:
"I have the complete supercharger conversion for the Mustang 3.8 from the supercharger to the 30lb injectors to the jackshaft and pullies. I have 1 kit available and come with every single part needed to do the conversion including the SuperCoupe aluminum cylinder heads. with no mods except dual exhaust you can expect between 250-275hp and roughly 350-400lbs of torque, much much more hp with a few simple mods, but a GT killer in factory trim easily. On 99-04 cars the heads ABSOLUTELY MUST be swapped. " so do you think this one will work? he said he had it on his v6 stang

Ok.... Heres a question... I am on craigslist and there is a guy who has the complete exhaust system off an 03 GT. It has the true duals with the H pipe, cats and mufflers. Everything is there but the exhaust manifodls. (CHEAP). I was wondering if this would bolt up to my V6? Didn't know if it is the same diameter or of it would even work. If I cut out the factory mufflers and put in flowmasters. This would eliminate the Y pipe, and give me true duals.

im almost positive that it doesnt just bolt right up... the manifold's connectors on the GT dont end up being in the exact same place as the manifolds on ur sixer ud have to modify the h-pipe so it can connect to the manifolds correctly.. a competent exhaust shop could probably do it for you

You can't use the H pipe. Maybe see if he'll just sell you the mufflers and tailpipes and have a muffler shop just fab up a cross over for you or go "true" duals or "divorced" duals. (no crossover)

the best way to go is to get a gt cat back and get a muffler shop to make you a custom h pipe

ya dood chop the manifold from that y pipe. if the gt has bolt connectors from the gt manifolds chop that exhaust to where you can weld your v6 manifolds onto those bolt connectors. thats the easiest way to do it. it would actually be better if the pipe that went the the gt manifold is bigger than the v6 manifold pipe. that way it can just slide over the v6 one and make an easy weld without messing with exhaust flow.
how many o2 sensor ports does that gt exhaust have? cuz the v6 only has two i think an the gt has 4.

as for this. crossovers are really easy to take out. you could even just chop them out and weld straight pipes on each pipe.
