Default Rotor problem help please

So for the past week i have been hearing a squealing noise coming from my readend and finaly it got so lound and annoying i ask my father to take a look at all my rotors because it only happens when i'm coasting or accelerating at cetain speeds but not braking. so he looks and tell me nah i don't see anything wrong and not to speed while he is gone for the week so he can take a better look at them when he gets back what i'm pretty sure is i wraped my rotors in my driving problem ( speeding i know bad but it happens sometimes) and then stoping hastly. anyways all bashin me beside what should i do these things are screaming wanna get drilled rotors but he also doesn't want me to how can i check to see if they are good or not.

oh also car shakes a little when i brake and driving a certain speedlimit speeds time for new pads?

the squeeling might be worn down pads. the shaking sounds like warped rotors.

since you plan on using drilled rotors i feel like i should warn you, they have a tendency to crack and will drastically reduce your pad life. Slotted rotors are a better solution on a street car, they remove gases and dust without the cracking and maintain pad life.

I doubt your rotors are warped, that rarely happens, even when beating on the pretty hard. If you get them hot enough to smell them, they're probably glazed. Fortunatly, it's an easy fix. I use a 120grit sanding disc in a drill motor. Resurface both the rotor surfaces and the pads. Doesn't take much, just make them shiney again.

DIsc brake squeal is usually caused by the pad vibrating in the caliper. Usually the outboard pad. Clean the mounting surfaces well. And then re-assemble with Permatex DIsc Brake Anti-Squeal. It's the blue goo.

if your car is shaking under braking, your rotors are probably warped, especially if you feel a pulsation in the pedal. check your pads, when they get down to around 15-20%, there is a metal squeel tab usually built into the pad, and is designed to make a bunch of noise to tell you your pads need to be changed.

also, dont just check the outside pad, if the pads look low at all, pull the wheel off and check the inside pad, because the inside pad wears faster than the outside pad.

I have had drilled/slotted rotors on my car for years now with no problems. You just have to use decent pads, not cheap organic ones.....

To the OP, you need to check your slider pins. They have a tendency to bind up and make it feel like the rotors are warped. If one pin is frozen, it will rub on the rotor on an angle and not fully apply pressure to the pad evenly when braking......

Late response, but a response none the less...

I had drilled and slotted and like a dummy ran them at an open track event. End result was a cracked drivers side front rotor.
I went through a set and a half of pads that day though, so it took some serious abuse to get the rotor to die.
