Well, you can change the sound for a little more growl, but unfortunately, it won't sound like a V8. Flowmasters sound good on V6's, I have dual exhaust on mine and it sounds good for a V6. Let's see what others will say.

I'd go flowmasters, but you probably want to go dual exhaust as well. I can't figure out why ford lets any mustang come out of the factory without dual exhaust.

I think they leave certain stuff out so more people will buy the GT

Still, it's a shame that my mom's Altima came with dual exhaust yet my mustang didn't. There are some things that are necessities, and for a sports car a dual exhaust is one of them. They probably loose more business by not having the dual exhaust than they gain by having people go with the GT.

So do Honda Accords (V6), various Nissans, and even *gasp* Ford Fusions!! When will Ford wake up and give us V6s a dual exhaust?!?

I know alot of people are going to jump on me for recommending these, but I personally think the Cherry Bomb glasspacks sound great on a V6. I don't know about throwing them on a V8, but I think it sounds pretty good on the V6. I've heard quite a few of the ricer fart sounding cars, I don't like it at all, it sounds nothing like that, and still gives it a bit of a rumble. Dirt cheap too, the mufflers only cost around $20. It's completely a matter of opinion. Plus I threw on an American Muscle CAI not too long ago, and it sounds even better now. Here is a link to a youtube video I made of it shortly after installing the muffler, completely stock. Alot of compliments from youtube people as well.
