First post, first question This is not how I wanted to make my introduction but hey everyone! I saw this forum a few weeks back and though "I'd love to join", but I put it off until yesterday... Which leads me to my question.
Back in may I bought my first car (that I drove on the roads, I was late getting my licencse)
I purchased a 2002 V6 Mustang, I love this car and I have always like Mustangs. Well drving it has been fun and was going well fo the most part except for yesterday, it was raining cats and dogs and my friend and I were in my car going about 65 km/h when the woman next to me swerved in to my lane, instead of letting her hit me I turned into the turning lane (bad move), I applied my brakes and went into a skid, sliding across the intersection and ending with my front wheels on either side of the concrete curb like median.
The bottom of my car scraped across the cement and was halted by the remains of a sign post sicking out of the ground about 4 inches.
Today my dad looked at my car t inspect the damage, turns out, the sign post remains have bent my subframe, causeing that to crack the part that houses my power steering fluid, the bit that runs the same way as the axel. It seems repariable just expensive, I was wondering what kind of ball park prcie I will be looking at.
Also my dad is friends with a qualified mechanic, who has a lift, engine hoist and by the sound of it many other essentials for fixing cars. So I may not have to pay a shop for their services.
Thanks all! |
