Hey guys iīm Stuardo from Guatemala, i own a 2001 Stang, 3.8 and 6 cylinder engine and manual tranny with 81,XXX miles.. LOL everybody knows about engine specs.

well i have a problem, a tried everything.. when iīm driving at 3,500 rpms my car is OK, but when i want to pass over 4,000 RPM my car stumble, it feels like when a car doesnīt have much gas, few seconds later it passes from 4,000 rpms

y tried this:

- cleaned MAF (i had the 171 code)
- remove catalyc converter
- clean EGR VALVE
- change DPFE sensor
- clean TPS, IAC and throttle body
- it has AUTOLITE DOUBLE PLATINUM SPARKS (they have like 500 miles)
- new spark plug wires
- new fuel filter
- new air filter
- the oil has just 500 miles

i had check engine light on, but yesterday it turns off, i checked the bulb and itīs ok

PLEASE HELP ME... I DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO...

I would recheck the plugs and wires. Things that are happening has happened to me and it was usually a bad plug or wire/cop.
what did you gap the plugs at?

Plug gap should be .044.....

I would check the coilpack for suspected weak spark. What type of plug wires did you use?

p0171 is bank1 running lean (LTFT +25%)

since you dont also have a p0174 (bank2 running lean) ; i would start checking for vacuum leaks.

-if the MAF was causing your car to run lean, it would be running lean on both banks.

also, you could doublecheck your ignition system with the engine running by spraying the wires and coil with salty water and look/listen for arcing.

p0171 is your only code? you're sure there are no pending dtc's?

po171 indicates that bank1 is running lean.
it has nothing to do with the ECT or cylinder head temp sensor. if you have a code for one of those, your car has most likely overheated at some point. and it is highly improbable that your pcm is bad.

have you checked for vacuum leaks yet?

if the fuel pump was failing, you would have a lean code for both banks 1 & 2, not just 1.

but, you can always check your FRP (fuel rail pressure) while driving if you have a handheld tuner or a scanner with live data capabilities.

you should see somewhere between 42-52 psi.
