I had installed a CIA for my 04 V6 mustang. The "Check Engine" light kept coming on. I also have a flash tuner from Super Chips and the tune was on the car. I ended up putting the stock air intake back on and the light keeps coming on. I then returned the tuning to stock and the light never came on. I have had the tuner on the car for 4 years and never a problem. Why is this going on? Any Ideas? The car seems to run ok but I hate having the light on.
If the light goes off with out the tuner, then just put the cold air kit on and if the light still stays off, don't worry about the tuner. Honestly, and my friend bought one when we bought his 04 Mustang v6, it does almost nothing in power gains. He tried all the tunes and never felt a difference, didn't run any faster at the track. Superchips would be on the very bottom of the tuner pole.
Not sure if something got corrupted but sounds like the tuner is doing something in the parameters that it doesn't like. i would save up for a Xcal.

P2004 - Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Open (Bank 1) This DTC is set when the IMRC is commanded closed, but the IMRCM indicates open. This DTC replaces P1518 and P1537.
IMRC monitor signal circuit shorted to PWR GND or SIG RTN.
Damaged IMRC actuator or solenoid.
Damaged PCM.
Blocked vacuum hoses.
P2014 - Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor/Switch Circuit (Bank 1)
The IMRC system is monitored for failure during continuous or KOEO self-test. Each DTC distinguishes the corresponding failed bank for IMRC actuator assemblies with dual monitor switches. The test fails when the signal on the monitor pin is outside an expected calibrated range. This DTC replaces P1516.

Superchips is SCT. Did I miss something? 20rwhp gain on a V6.
You have an IMRC intake runner stuck open on the passenger's side lower. It is a PITA to get to sometimes, but it is there. There is a black box on the back of your lower intake manifold with a arms that extend to 2 butterfly valves on your lower intake on each side. Make sure if you can open and close those valves or see if one of the linkages has gotten disconnected or clogged with crud. The black box is operated by vacuum, so inspect all the lines back there too......
+1 on the linkage arms... Used to see them fall off of everything that had them at the Ford dealer....
The P1000 came from when you took the tune off, the PCM lost its data, just has to be driven so all the monitors can run and pass. Thats also a way you can tell that somebodies been clearing codes rather then fixing the problem.
I think 2005gt was talking about a mail order tune over a custom tune done on a dyno by someone who knows what they're doing.....
