So i finally realized that my fan is not kicking on may have happened after i put my windstar on a while ago anyway i need to make it work again first i thought it was the fuse but i took it to orielys and they said that my fuse was a cercuit breaker .... so i got a fuse anyway they do look different but i still dont think its working .... so how do i test if its a fuse problem and also what else could it be ... the clutch in the motor??
the thermostat???
tune ???
someone said it could be a fan switch but orielys said i didnt have one ???
The fan is controlled by your CCRM. What happens if you turn your AC on? The fan should kick on immediately. Fans are a constant problem on our cars. You can also test it with a wire jumped to your fan harness from your battery.....
so I bench tested the fan and it worked so either it's not getting any power or like u said what ever the ccrm is .... Could that throw my check engine light becuase it just came on. I was playing with my chip and put back too stock to see if maybe if the tune had the fan was turn off but now the check engine light is on I'll go to auto and get checked out but can the ccrm cause this and how do I fix the ccrm?
Sorry Dude. I guess I missed this last night. Let's see what the CEL proves before going out and spending money on a CCRM. Yours is located in your passenger's side fenderwell. you also need to make sure that your chip was properly programmed with the fan kicking on at 190 degrees. It is easy to miss when programming a chip.
what does cel mean and if it means the codes i threw its not them for some reason my egr codes came back on and i have the chip programed the remove that so... i think all of this is the chip ill call a.m. tomorrow and see if i can get ahold of the tuner and ask him about it ... and thanks for all the help just want to let you know i appreciate it
i call the tuner and he said it was programed to turn on but i think at 200 and had two speed built in so i will unplug the chip anyways to see if it works but so far i dont think its the chip anymore
so i did alot of reading and found out what the ccrm is and seems like a better route is to replace one of the relays.... im gonna try to do this monday so do you know which relay it is and where i have to sodder any thing would be help ... i dont feel like spending 300 dollars when im so close to turbos and just bouht a 400 dollar bumper and a 150 rear to go with the front
The CCRM is located inside your passenger's side fenderwell. It controls fuel, AC, and fan. If you have a buddy with a GT or Windstar, you can use theirs. They are all about the same......
