Default american muscle CAI

installed it today, im pretty sure everything came out fine. but when im in my car and the air is on it sounds sorta like a turbo, is that normal ? and i reallly didnt notice my exhaust being much louder >.< any ideas ?

You mean that little shhhh sound? That just means the air is flowing well. What's your exhaust setup?

The flows should be good. You might want to look into a new midpipe, preferably an h pipe. You can always also do a little youtubing to decide between an x or h pipe. As for the CAI, remember that the engine is basically a big air pump. However, it's the exhaust that gives it its tone.

yup it whistles...get a bigger throttle body and port match it to ur intake manifold and the whistling sound completly goes away it will sound like a mini turbine jet engine.

Louder and meaner!
No really, superchargers might not be louder (depends on the style and how the blades are cut) -- but turbos will always whine.

yea i bet everyone can also... but any power noises coming out of the engine are always nice to hear!

I know what a a turbo and supercharger sound like, I'm not that stupid. Just trying point out how loud it will be with forced induction. That and a cam would sound awesome.

i was trying to say that too. of course a turbo/supercharger sound louder than a CAI
