The late model T5 should be around 300ft/lbs and i believe that is at the crank rating, if i remember right. If you get a mild bolt on 4.6, you should be ok but the more mods or more track time, the more chances on it breaking. Same goes for the V6 7.5 rear end.

ft/lbs is how you measure torque

I'm not sure what the rating is for the 4R70W in a V6 will be. The 300ft/lbs would be the max torque from your engine that would travel through it.

First of all, if you swap in a 4.6l you will need to get a tranny. The v6 tranny will not bolt up to 4.6l motor. you also have to worry about all the wiring too. Trust me it would be a pita. If you want a v8, sell yours and buy one. If you want the power of a v8, mod the hell out of your 6.

Don't the GTs an V6 autos use the same trans?

For a V6-V8 swap you are going to need: engine, wiring harness, suspension, 8.8" rear-end, GT exhaust (stock V6 Y-pipe will not work), and fuel system.

They use the same tranny's with different casings......

I run about 300rwhp and 400rwtq through my T-5, but it is on borrowed time. That would equate to about 340/440 or so at the crank......

Sell the V6 and buy a V8. Only 95 and older V6 stangs are logical candidates for this swap.
