Default Cold Air Intake - anyone have this one? Easy to install

BBK Cold Air Intake (2005-2009 V6) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

I am thinking about getting that cold air intake. Everyone seems to love it. I guess you really get a performance increase? Sound changes too? Anyone have it or experience with this? Is it tough to install?

any feedback would be great. Tune would come next year but I think if I can only have one (tune or intake), intake is better right?

I don't like metal CAI's, they just get heat soaked. I've installed many different CAI's on my cars and other cars, they are easy to do. I can take my time and have it done in 15mins.

I have both on my 00 stang v6 and the things about both is that intake will net you better exhaust sound and about 7 hp (that is what i got) and my tuner got me alot more like 20 hp on a preloaded tune in my diablo sport tuner. It got alot more bottom end power and more power through the whole power band and another advantage is that it can take care of fault codes in the car and do much more well worth the money.

Not really... Usually, a tuner (programmer) is best used in addition to all your mods. If you get a programmer (with preloaded tune) first, it will be set-up to get the best out of a stock engine. If you get it after the mods (and tell the programmer manuf.), the tune you get will take advantage of those mods, also. So, I would recommend getting the tuner after a few mods.
However, the great thing about programmers is that they can be adjusted later! So, after you add other mods, you can always go back and get a more aggressive tune. Plus, AM has an option where you can get free tunes for the life of the programmer (as long as you buy your future mods from them).
I might check out some of their package deals: CAI & programmer. The S197s pretty much need a tune with the CAI...
