I know absolutely nothing about vehicles, except how to drive one. When I arrived at school today I heard a sizzling under my car, and when I looked there was a clear liquid dripping onto the ground.
I let it sit for about an hour, when I got back I popped the hood and the inside was quite warm. My first thought was the radiator, I observed the tank that holds the fluid, it's empty.
I read the fluid is green though.
Any advice would be most appreciated.
P.S. It's a 2000 Mustang with almost 200,000 miles on it. I know, that's ridiculous. What's ironic is I was about to go get my oil changed today.
it sounds to me like you only looked in the reservoir so make sure your engine is completely cooled down then check in your radiator if you cant see any fluid in there you may have found your prob...... my other question to you was were you using your air conditioning on this particular day? and how much fluid was it? if it wasnt very much then i bet it was condensation from your a/c system

OH! My A/C goes in and out. It works most of the time. I had the freon level checked and the guy said that there was WAY to much in there. I'm pretty sure he let some pressure off of it.
I'd use a mixture of antifreeze and water. 50/50 usually(some kinds come pre-mixed). There should be a cold fill line on the resevoir too. That means thats where the level should be when the car is cold.
Also depending on how low it was....If you notice your temp getting higher than usual as you drive...you probably have an air pocket in the cooling system. and you might need to add more, (like notchbackfox said) don't open the rad if its hot!!!!

My girlfriend calls it a waste of money, but I see it as saving money(and time away from her) if I install it myself
I mean this not in a condencending way, but in a way to prevent you from doing any hard to your car. Take it to a shop and have them put in and check all your fluids. In the future if you want to do it yourself then start doing A LOT of reading on the forums and internet.

Hahaha, thanks ewells.
And yes, I did. It was just condensation, thanks. I feel a bit dumb though. But, it's getting old and to the point where things are going to start falling apart on it(and they certainly are), so I was concerned.
Sorry for the delayed reply.
