Depends on what you like...
Manaul: you get to slap thru the gears, and with skill you can shift faster than a stock auto; downside is you could miss a shift, can't handle as much power (unless you upgrade the clutch, which is $$$)
Auto: no thinking, just stomp on the gas, and a perf. auto (or even one that is tuned or has a shift kit) will shift fast as hell! Cons would be the cost to swap to one, may break traction with aggressive shifts.
