T-56, Viper spec 6 speed, almost anything made by Tremec. Be prepared to spend upwards of $2k+ for a good tranny.

Just build your 4R70W. It has the standard 6 planetary gears, so it will handle the abuse. J has one on his twin turbo car, and it has held up nicely.......

Replace: your auto with a 4R70W j/k

Rebuild: Check out this link for info on Ford auto tranny's, their differences, and how to rebuild one (featuring the infamous J-mod, by Ford Engineer Jerry ).
http://www.tccoa.com/articles/tranny/index.html#

But unless you are going serious power (450hp+), your stock auto should be able to handle it -- I would just recommend installing a J-mod by switching valve-bodies aka "shift kit" and tuning your auto to shift harder/firmer. If you are going high power, then replace with a performance auto tranny (lentech, B&M, etc)
