Soak it in diesel, see my message above, unless you really want to rebuild it.

Got the timing chain off.

I can turn the camshaft.

What are the chances that:
  • Upper half is OK?
  • Pistons are OK?

Correct. And your oil pump wasn't functioning and seized your motor. The stock oil pressure gauges are made to read normal until you get under 10psi or so. Even at that pressure, it's too late if you are driving it......

Default Got it out....

Decided to pull it... I really wanted to know what happened.

Main bearings look nice and shiny.

3rd connecting rod journal spun.(counting from front)

Measuring with a cheap digital caliper I get 2.307 on the spun rod journal with Haynes listing 2.3103 to 2.3111 as spec.

Options:
- Used yard motor
- Machine crank and put it oversized bearings, leave upper alone.
- Rebuild whole thing

I am leaning towards machine crank and put it back together. What should the machine work cost?

I don't have the budget for performance and not sure I want to put the money into a total rebuild.

I am I nuts or on track?

Thanks

The crank needs to come out and get polished, the block needs to get line bored, and you need new bearings.....

Default Line bore??

What is the risk if I don't get the block line bored?
