Default 2001 V6 Manual, won't start

Hey Guys, now I have a more urgent problem, hoping you guys can guide me on some things to check. Let me give you as much info. as I can here.

Car has been working perfect, got home today and parked in the driveway. Went out like an hour later to put it in the garage and it won't start. Plenty of battery power, it's acting like it would if you tried to start it without pushing the clutch in. When you turn the key, the dash lights do their normal thing but no clicking, no sound at all. I checked all the fuses, all good. I thought maybe the switch that engages when you push in the clutch was bad maybe. I look under the dash and it looks like there are two of them that move when you push in the clutch? One is over above the accelerator, I tested that one with a meter and it's working. I see a weird plunger mechanism hooked right to the clutch pedal lever, is that also a clutch switch? I'm wondering if I maybe kicked a wire loose up there? Can't see a loose one but it looks like a nuclear power plant up there with all those wires, boxes, and such running all over.

Hoping someone knows a place to test, check? Someway to narrow down why nothing is firing when I turn the key.

Thanks for any help, gotta get this going by Monday for work, yikes!

Thanks!

Ron

Sounds like something got left on and your battery died. Try jumping the car.

Battery is full power, it's not cranking. It's acting just like if you tried to start it but didn't push the clutch in. I'm curious about the white plunger switch next to the clutch, or if there is a wire/harness/ect. I can check under there.

You can bypass that switch to see if it will start. Just run the 2 wires together before the switch. I think you're on the right path so far.......

I tried that, still didn't work.. but... now I feel like an idiot here...

First, in my own poor defense, we just got the car used.. no owners manual.. keep that in mind

Apparantly my wife caused the car not to start, when she was still in the car she pushed that flashing red light on the dash, wondering if it was a button. I find now it was, it turns the alarm system on. If you don't lock up and just get out and get back in without disarming the car won't start. For some reason, the alarm never went off until later last night when I went back into the car to check some more things out. Then I caught on. She goes, 'I wonder if I did that when I pushed that red light', I pushed it again and the car started right up.

Oh man, you guys are never gonna take me seriously again

Anyone else ever do that???

Here's a related question, I found the owners manual online and it says nothing about pushing that red indicator light/button. When I push it, I noticed the light flashes faster and you can't start the car. Entering the vehicle sets the alarm off. The manual only says when the car is locked, the alarm is on and the light flashes slowly. Anyone know anything about pushing that red light/button on the dash?
