I have a 98 mustang coupe 3.8L V6. I bought the gasket set on ebay for 85 bucks. Peoploe are telling me I dont have to take the rocker arms off the get to the heads. Is this true? I guy also told me I have to take the heads to a shop and get them decked. He also told me to not put a sealent ont he gaskets? How do I put these on?

What brand of headgaskets? You must take off the rockers bc they will need to be readjusted once the motor is back together. The pushrods need to come out as well. You will see this once you start taking everything apart. You should have your heads decked at the machine shop especially if you ran into gasket problems. If you were just doing a rebuild with no head problems, then it would not have to be.

Copper gasket spray depends on your headgasket. Most use 2 coats on Ford set, and none on the Felpros. You must purchase new head bolts.

The gasket brand is Big and Gaskets. You dont have to take the valve springs off right? Just the rockers and push rods? How much is the decking gonna be?

um what is your mechanical skill? Will you be doin this with someone that know how to do it? Just dont want to see you f your car up.
