I have a 2002 3.8l v6. Stock everything!
I want to get an exhaust to improve the sound but nothing crazy!! I have an opportunity to buy a stainless steel cat back magnaflow (4 x 9 x 14 in. Muffler, 2.5 in. Tubing, Dual Split Rear Exit, 3 in. Tip)
for pretty much half price (retail 675, i could get for 350)

What opinion can you guys give me in relation to if its a good move or not...yes or no

um yes... buy it... even if you end up not liking it turn around and sell it here on the forums or on ebay make your money back... it's a good deal though and it will give you a deeper growl...

it retails for 650??? damn thats alot.. is it the one with the y-pipe in it or does it have a midpipe involved.. cuz i know my stainless steel pypes catback costs something in the 300's

ya, I should have mentioned that... when I say "buy it", that's assuming you've researched it to make sure you're getting what you're paying for... if it's legit, then buy it... phew! glad I cleared that up... my karma's still paying for pranks I played in highschool... don't wanna add "giving bad advice"!!!!

looks like the y-pipe. Im pretty much novice when it comes to this sort of thing...
i checked the price out on magnaflow and its listed as 675. I saw it on am for 524...so 350 still sounds good.

here are my main questions...will this sound good on a v6 3.8l? I want it to sound a lil mean but not a loud attention grabber...Ive heard that magnaflows are always on foreign cars?? if i get this can i do it myself? bring it to my repair shop?

itll be kind of annoying and slightly difficult to do without it being on a lift.. but assuming you could get the car off the ground you would definitely be able to do it yourself assuming you have basic mechanic skills... try searching youtube to see if you like the way it sounds.. for what you are looking for i think that catback kit would be adequate it will definitely make it sound better and meaner when youre driving around but it wont be obnoxiously loud... i say go for it
